Gas Meter removal - Still on findmysupplier
Hi,
On the 21st May, my gas meter was removed during the installation of my heat pump by Octopus, who are also my current supplier.
I contacted Octopus via email and they confirmed that the gas meter has been deactivated from my account.
I can still find my old gas meter on findmysupplier.energy and even on BritishGas.
I was wondering if there is anything else I need to do?
Is there a national register that it needs removing from, or does it just take time to update?

There is a national database and it's slow to update - although 2 months seems particularly long.
Nothing more for you to do though.0 -
2 months isn’t a long time in the world of XOSERVE!BarelySentientAI said:There is a national database and it's slow to update - although 2 months seems particularly long.

18 months to be supplied with information is a normal occurrence.0 -
Okay, thanks. I just wanted to check as I don't want to get a standing charge bill when I have no gas meter.0
