Can I get my money back from Sk:n Group?

Hello!

In March I paid a few hundred pounds for a service with the Sk:n Clinic. I paid up front with my debit card which gave me a total of 8 sessions of treatment. To date, I've only had 2 sessions. Today was supposed to be my 3rd, but when I showed up at the door there's a sign that says sk:n and The Harley Medical Group ceased trading yesterday.

It said further details would be available online, but when you go to their website it's already been shut down...

What is my best course of action to try and get my money back? Not necessarily even all of it, as I have had 2 sessions. Something would be better than nothing!

The thing that slightly complicates things is that I paid for it on a NatWest debit card which I have since switched to First Direct. So, I'm not particularly hopeful.

Any advice would be massively appreciated!

Thanks.

Ring the bank whose card you paid with and ask them to do a chargeback

If I do that, do you know if they will just automatically forward it to the current account I have now?

They will investigate and if your claim is upheld, they will refund it to the same payment method that was used.  If you have closed that account using the transfer process, then they will forward it to your new bank.

  • I have the same issue, but in this case I paid a direct debit to a finance company for a set of treatments. Do I have any legal right to cancel my direct debit?

    Will be a partial chargeback.
Op will just need to supply proof of cost of each treatment & they will get a refund for the treatments that they will not be receiving.
