Applying for confirmation in Scotland

Hi All,
I am trying to get confirmation for my mum's estate but having difficulties. I submitted forms C1 and C5 along with the relevant documents but they have today been returned by Dundee Sherriff Court with a letter saying that they are unable to process the application in its current form, but with no explanation as to why.
The estate is classed as a large estate as its over £36k, but it is fairly straightforward with no IHT to pay and I am both the sole executor and sole beneficiary.
I did a lot of research before submitting the forms and I'm confident that they have been completed correctly, but I have clearly gone wrong somewhere.
The 2 things that could potentially be incorrect are that a) I have sent form C5 to the court when I should have sent it to HMRC or b) I didn't send a court fee with the application as this wasn't mentioned in the guidance.
Any help would be appreciated.

Was the death before 2022? Form C5 is only used for deaths occuring before 2022.

There must be some perceived errors in the forms. Would you be able to post redacted copies for comment.0
