Good morning, it's a fine start here, yesterday was a lovely warmish day as well.
Dil's mum was going to come over, but couldn't make it after all, so we'll reschedule. She wasn't feeling very well.
We spent a bit of time tidying outside, Dh cut the hedge, it was starting to look a bit straggly, and I weeded and swept up. Tidied the backyard as well.
We're going to paint the kitchen today, there's not actually that much wall, what with doors, tiles and wall cupboards, it's fiddly more than anything.
I don't need to go out for anything, there's plenty of stuff in the fridge and freezer.
Hope everyone has a good day, I've just realised I haven't read back on yesterday yet, I'll do it later.
Take care folks.

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. At last summer is here - for a couple of days at least!
Yesterday was beautiful and I finally sallied forth to meet my DF in a summer dress.. We enjoyed a lovely lunch and then caught up on all that was said when she had finally got her DH to the docs. It was very quiet inside as most folk were sitting outside enjoying the sunshine. I'd have been out there too but DF is very pale skinned and avoids too much sun.
Today I will make the best of it and once I have cleaned the kitchen and bathroom I shall do a bit of light pottering in the front garden (wilderness) and then vacate to the back with my current book.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need. Take care all xx

Morning All
Thanks for the starts Scarlet and Chrisca, happy birthday to your DS.
Wet and breezy this morning, I'll keep the washing for another day! Yesterday was warm but overcast, just right for the little one. We went to the library yesterday afternoon for a craft session and made bead coasters, quite fiddly but the little one managed fine, I think it's sun catchers today - such a great thing to have on and all free.
I did a bit more in the garden after the little one went home and sorted the greenhouse - there are quite a few tomatoes but all still green at the moment. I must get some more twine to encourage the cucumbers to climb.
Hope your OH recovers soon Mehefin.
Glad you enjoyed your meal out Nanny.
How's work going Gers?
Ruby - I had a fantastic time in Vietnam, so much to see it would take months to do it all. The cities are mad, there don't seem to be any rules for the roads but very few accidents, they all seem to know what they are doing! My main mode of transport in towns and cities was on the back of a moped (cheapest taxi) and after the first trip I decided it was best not to try to look what was going on, just enjoy the view! The people are fabulous, always wanting to help show you what's best. The food was good too!
Anyway, I'll go and fetch the little one in a bit whilst Mum is at work, I'm sure we can find plenty to do here.
Take care. XX

Back. It's all very grey looking outside though I have the front door open as it's not cold. The sun only appeared in the afternoon yesterday so there's hope yet.My meeting was good even if the three of us spent most of the time catching up on village gossip. It's not often I hear the daily news. Later, my 'work' was fine. It's really sitting at a desk and waving as people come and go. Every so often I need to something slightly different. Second last day today. In the early evening my tooting neighbour and his two children were out for an evening cycle, they stopped here, came in for water and stayed to chat for a short while - so lovely. The youngsters are delightful, articulate and polite. Of course, I know that it's not always that way.@MF - so sorry about your wife, dodgy backs are awful.@Scarlet - enjoy the fiddly painting. It'll be worth the effort.@Chrisca - a takeaway is perfect. Hot food and no washing up!@TA - I'm glad that your DF made it out yesterday with the added bonus of summer frocks. Let's hope that more days like that are ahead.@Camelot - did you make a bead coaster too? Enjoy the sun-catchers. Your rides round Vietnamese cities brought a memory back to be about my time in Amman in Jordan. It was the very same, mostly scary though fascinating too. Eventually I refused to sit in the front seat of the car, always went in the back and wouldn't look as cars, buses and cyclists all jammed in going in different directions. Horrible!Right, must away to start my day. I hope that everyone is doing well.9

Morning all, lovely and sunny
I'm pleased to say DDog had a better night so I feel a bit more with it. Been to let neighbours cat in after his night-time prowls, he was waiting on the doorstep. She is meant to be back later this afternoon but I've quite enjoyed looking after him, not really had anything to do with cats since I was about 3 when we had an all white one called Frosty. Not sure why we never had another after him, it was always dogs after that until we got married and I moved out, but Mum and Dad got another after their last dog died- I suppose when they were getting older it was easier than dogwalking
The back door is open and I can hear next door pottering in the garden. He was in hospital last week with a chest infection and his cough sounds awful still.I have my hairdresser coming this afternoon, so a bit of a tidy on the cards before he arrives.Hope you DS has a good birthday ,enjoy the takeaway Chrisca. It will be a root around in the freezer for us. Take care all & have a good day:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)9 -
Morning all.
Bright and sunny here so I've done one load of washing. I've already got the curtains pulled at the back as it seemed hot.
Had a dreadful trip back up the M1 last night because J9 - 11A was closed for roadworks. I didn't get in until 1am so am feeling a little delicate this morning. I won't be attempting any thing major today but I did buy some anti histamine tablets yesterday to see if they will help with my nose/cough as it's not getting any better.
Took a small pork joint out of the freezer last night so will be cooking that later. We had h/m sweet potato wedges last night, which were delicious. The sweet potatoes came from the Larder, as did today's pork, white potatoes and some broccoli to go with it. I've also used some of the Greek yogurt on my breakfast and have strawberries in the fridge so the Larder is extremely good value for money at the moment.
Off to make more tea. Have a good day everyone.

Morning! Tip run day today, the boot is full of wood from the goth box. I did save some but some had splintered or warped so most of it has gone. Along with a chopped up fence panel and posts where I couldn't get the screws out. There are also some bits and pieces I forgot to take last time. The Deli people took the jars too [50] so that's only about a hundred for me now, here anyway, more in Italy.... First lot of washing has finished, second lot to go on, then bacon sandwich for breakfast. DOn't think there's anything else today and that means I may go for a trip out tomorrow, huzzah...Possibly a trip to the House of Porchetta...:)Camelot, sounds wonderful, what a great experience. Scarlet, don't forget the hair cover, I always find loads of it in mine when I do it. Gers sounds like you have a lovely community there. Rosy, cat on the cards?
Nanny, really don't worry about having a moan, you're allowed, if you can't moan to us etc....Take care all, enjoy your days...

Morning all
Slightly overcast here this morning but we are promised some sun later, I hope so as I can then get all the cushion covers back on and wash down the wicker, we will then be ready for the sun over the weekend which is meant to be coming.
OH is off work he said his head is banging so he will be under my feet later, I have just had a message from one of my clients carers to say he has tested positive for covid which would explain his horrible behaviour on Tuesday 🙄 I’m just hoping we don’t get it again.
DD is working a late shift again so just OH and I here for dinner I might do a prawn /garlic / chilli pasta but will see what we fancy later.
Camelot it sounds wonderful but I think I would be terrified in that traffic xx
Have good days all and take care xx7 -
Morning everyone just back from a cleaning job so sitting having a cuppa it’s overcast but warm we will see what the rest of the day brings Camelot good to hear you survived the roads sounds scary but brilliant I bet it was a great experience and something very different. I need to call at a farm shop today to pick up an order for two of my sons they keep telling me they are helping me by filling my days in for me then I’m calling to get a plant to replace one that has had plenty of chances to revive itself but it’s definitely dead and I must call and get some birthday cards I thought I had them in the draw but no I keep buying a few at a time with four children there partners and nine grandchildren there’s always a birthday I got a lovely message of one of them who is in Florida at the moment on holiday in Disney PHEW nanna you think you are fat there’s some whoppers over here they are all heart . Thinking of all the poorlies hugs to those that need them have a good day everyone whatever you are doing8
