EBay buyer now has my item and my money

My eBay buyer wasn’t happy with the dress I sold her so I sent her a eBay postage label and a refund immediately. She claimed the label came up blank when she clicked it and asked for my address which I gave. I’ve messaged her twice asking for updates since then I’ve heard nothing. It’s been a week. She has my money and my item. I can’t use small claims as she’s in Scotland, I’m in England and the court systems aren’t cross border. What can I do? It’s worth £50 not the end of the world but very annoying for the fact I’ve been made a mug. (I do know I should have waited for the item to be returned but acted through inexperience and trust!). Maybe worth noting sellers can’t post neg feedback on buyers. Seems there’s little protection for sellers against rogue buyers!

I think you've lost this until the item is returned you didn't need to refund or they can do whatever they like resend the label once you know you have it visually. If they go quiet then that's your answer don't risk a negative also. Write it off block and value the lesson.0

Why did you refund before return? There is full protection for sellers against this scenario on eBay but you should always use the eBay system as you are covered then against this exact scenario. Buyers should be asked to open an SNAD case and a label issued through that the. You wait for item to be returned and eBay allow 2 days after tracking shoes delivery for a seller to refund.I think in your situation you are unlikely to see either your money or the dress again.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. If they don't respond to email then send them a letter or visit.. although it sounds like they live far away.
If this happened to me I would probably spam this person with all possible free junk mails, put some fake ads for sale on Gumtree with collection only.. long list of ideas.
But they also have yours 😅0 -

It's like your small claims but we believe it's better. For example, the fee for small claims up to £300 is £35 whereas the fee for Scottish Simple Procedure for the same amount is only £20.
Anyone, from England or anywhere else, can use it to bring a claim against someone resident in Scotland.
