last minute.com BA flight cancelled

We’ve booked a flight and hotel package with LM.com and have just found out our outbound flight with BA has been cancelled. We’ve called three times and had a web chat, but still no alternative flights offered. Holiday is 2.5 weeks away.

Has this happened to anyone else, and what was the outcome?

Thx

If it is a package and one element of it fails then you are entitled to a full refund.
Are you hoping to be shifted to another flight?
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

That’s interesting - although LM.com would give a refund as a voucher, which is annoying.

There are alternative flights around the same time (EasyJet) but also flights to a much closer airport, which would actually be better for us. We still want to go ahead as long as it doesn’t mean cutting the holiday short, ie bumping us to the next day. Looks like both the outbound flights for that day have been cancelled, so it would have to be a different airline.

You are entitled to a cash refund and do not have to accept a voucher if the holiday can’t go ahead.

does your ATOL certificate show that it is a package, because sometimes people believe they have a package holiday when they haven’t.

if I remember correctly last minute behaved appallingly during Covid with regard to their legal obligations.

Just to confirm - you’ve been communicating with LM about the options, rather than BA?

Correct way is to communicate with LM as the booking is held by them. It is only within 24 hours of departure that BA would take control of the flight.

Yes I'm aware of that, that's why I asked the OP to make sure that they were too!!!!

Yes, that’s right - what I’m trying to get my head around is who exactly are we waiting for?

To recap- original cancelled flight was at 7.10am with BA. LM have come back with a 4.35pm flight with EasyJet. This means effectively missing one day of the holiday.

There are actually flights available at 7.05am (pretty much the same as originally booked) and 8.45am (next best option) - both would still give a fair amount of time on the first day.

Who’s responsible - is the delay in requesting the new flights because BA aren’t playing ball with LM, or could LM just book the EJ flights, but aren’t giving us the most similar flights as the later ones are cheaper?

We were under the impression that LM were waiting for BA to find flights, but maybe it’s LM dragging their heals.
