First Direct switch questions.

Hello.

I opened a FD account on the 9th and started a switch on the 15th with a completion  date on 29th.
Should l wait until the switch is completed  before depositing £1000 or can l do it now before 29th?

Also because lve started the switch if the offer is withdrawn  would FD still honour the promotion?

I've already  put some money into the account  via the post office(£10)  just to see if the card and account  were working and done one transaction  in  local shop.

    1) What do the switch terms say - pay in after switch completes?
    2) Yes, if you started the switch while the promotion was running

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

I was lookiing into that. The blurb reads:

To get the £175 cash offer, you need to switch your everyday banking to us using the Current Account Switching Service, including at least 2 Direct Debits or standing orders. Then pay in £1,000, make 5+ debit card payments, and log on to digital banking, within 30 days of your account opening. Your card transactions can be made in-store or online, and could be from your digital wallet or using your actual card.
The way I read it is that if you open your account you have 1 month from the date of opening, i.e. till Aug 15th in your case, to do all of the above.

    (Emphasis is mine!)

I'm still waiting for the t&c to appear on the app.
OK thank you for the reply.

What I am not clear about is in what standing your account should be. The way I read it is that you deposit 1K and in theory you can withdraw it immediately as it doesn't say you have to be above a certain threshold.
    The same with the DD.

Ah, I made a mistake. I think your deadline for all your transactions is Aug 8 (not really difficult to use the card 4 more times, though)
