cant balance transfer my Argos Card

i was told, that i could transfer my debt to a 0% interest credit card for 27 months, that would have taken a huge pressure off me, applied for the credit, got accepted, try to transfer the balance over and Halifax has told me that i cant balance transfer with Argos, even though i was told that i could, so now whats gonna happen is im gonna miss the deadline and lose everything i've just paid off in interest they're gonna throw onto the debt. i honestly dont know what to do now, that was my final option was to take the hit on my credit report just to relieve some pressure, i cant even do that.

Does your new card allow "money transfers" i.e. where they will pay money into a current account.
If they do then you can use that money to pay off the Argos account.
You'll probably have to pay a fee, but if that means moving your debt from a 20%APR+ Argos card onto a 0% card, it will probably work out cheaper in the long run.

My Halifax CC does offer MT and BT - their offer on the site though does just talk about BT

I suspect the Argos one is either a credit account or a store card so not really straightforward if it doesn't have the 16 digit number

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

There does seem to be less Money Transfer credit cards available for brand new customers nowadays.

Doing a simple search throws up mainly Virgin, Tesco Bank and MBNA as mainstream brands offering Money Transfer cards to new customers.

    See this MSE article:

     https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/credit-cards/money-transfers/

The ones that do offer Money Transfer cards to new customers seem to restrict the offer period to 12 months max with a circa 4% charge.

Like Nasqueron above, I also suspect the OP’s problem maybe due to the fact Argos cards do not appear to conform to the standard 16 digit credit card system (or 15 for Amex). Thus, a Balance Transfer may not be accepted as it is not a standard credit card.

The Argos card is not a credit card, it is a store card, as such no credit card provider will offer a balance transfer from it. As other have said you could use a money transfer, or a loan.

Who told you you could balance transfer a Argos card?

As it is not a credit card, in the true sense. Even Argos make no mention of "Credit Card" It is either Argos Card or Credit plan.

So as per previous posters your only option is a money transfer card.

To be fair to the OP, the Halifax credit cards website, in the FAQ's about 'Is a Balance Transfer card right for me' does state:
''If you have existing credit or store cards, a balance transfer credit card could help you bring everything together, making your finances easier to manage month-to-month'' (my bold):

Albeit he/she should have ideally double checked before applying that it would apply in the case of the Argos card which seems to be a bit of an oddity with even Argos referring to it as a 'Credit Plan'.

If OP was ok to pay double fee, they could try and get a MT card, use that, then BT off the MT card to use their 27 month 0% - if they are close to, or paying, interest on the Argos card of 30-40% then it'll be worth it if they have a big balance. They could then use the MT card like a normal card, put all spending on it, and keep BT off while using the money "saved" i.e. not spent, to pay down the BT card and/or any debt left on the Argos side
