Took delivery of new car 4 days ago. Have been trying to get esure to change the car on my policy since. They say they have an IT issue and are waiting on a fix. I was sent an email saying I am covered until tonight, but what happens when this runs out. Can I ask them to cancel my policy without paying the £60 charge if they cannot get this sorted today?

You can ask what you like?

    I certainly would.

You need to contact them and either they've fixed the problem and can now do the switch or the problem is outstanding and they'll extend the cover they put on previously.

Given they are under no obligation to allow you to switch the vehicle I wouldn't say there is an automatic right for the cancellation fee to be waived but wouldn't be too surprised if they accept it

Is it a newly-launched car (or spec of existing model)?

Did you ask them for a quote before buying?

Just to update, I gave up in the end as I was getting nowhere. Seems esure have new IT systems and call centres in South Africa. Nothing unusual about the car I had bought so should have been able to make the change online myself in a few minutes.
