I 'love' this sort of buyer

Options
I sold something overnight and within an hour of that sale I get a message 'cancel this'. That's it, no please, thank you or sorry just 'cancel this'.

Obviously I will as if I go ahead and send I suspect there's a very high chance it will arrive damaged in some way and need refunding, so it's not worth the effort, but it's cost me 30p in fees and I didn't even get a sorry. As it's on my private account I also have to wait for the next FVF offer day to relist.

  • I think 30p is a small price to pay to get rid of this buyer, I guess you have blocked them?
If you go down to the woods today you better not go alone.

Hate it when this happens - 'binding contract' means nothing on eBay.

Normally I get sorry I bid on this by accident.  Right despite having to go through a couple of screens of confirmation.  Like you say it’s not worth the hassle to try and force the purchase.

Right up there with 'funny story but my 2 year old kid accidentally bought this'. Yes, you might think it's funny and it's a great story to make up down the  pub after a few drinks- but I can assure you no one else thinks it's cute or funny that you allow your child unlimited access to online gadgets and they can navigate 2 or 3 screens to buy something.

  • I had one recently where they made an offer, which I accepted. About 15 minutes later, I got a message saying they still wanted to buy it but they’d given an incorrect address and said they would reorder if I cancelled it. I was suspicious and rightly so because I never heard from them again after cancelling it…

Last time this happened to me eBay told me as long as I had the new address from the buyer sent to me in an actual eBay message (so, within the eBay messaging system) it was fine and I would still be covered, since they can go in and check messages in the system if need be. So I went ahead. Fortunately for me it all turned out fine. Not sure if I would trust that again though......!

I cannot believe this - I have another one. None for months and months possibly even years and now 2 in a week.

This time again  on my private account a single one off item, lets say a red vase, got a message saying 'yellow want'. I asked them want they meant and they said 'yellow not red'. I replied it was red not yellow as per the photo and now I have 'I dint wormt them' , which I take to mean they want to cancel.

If this wasn't an entirely different account I would think someone was playing tricks on me.

You mean you didn't rush round and personally deliver it on a silver platter for her? I do wonder if people ought to be made to watch a few ebay videos before they are allowed to actually use the site.
