Premier sports subscriptions

I signed up for monthly payg on premier sports on 14th july. As I only wanted it for a one off event ,I tried to cancel the subscription on the day, and the following day but the system said "cannot be cancelled for 2 days".
After 2 days , indeed I can now cancel but they are now charging a 2nd month and cancelling the subscription in the 3rd month.
Sounds illegal to me as they stopped me cancelling within 30 days of the august subscription date or?

Why would it be illegal?
What do the terms you signed up to say about cancellation? Are they adhering to them?0
