Does this look worrying ?

My sister advertised  a pair of boots on a website (no idea which) and was offered a fair sum by a woman who lives locally - IF my sister could deliver the boots to her - and provide a tin of shoe polish ...
She is taking them now - but I don't think that she should even go.........
Any comments.

If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.

    Why not?
Tin of polish. Only if they were paying extra for it.

Hmmmm..... I've delivered things I've offered on freegle a couple of times and there's always that "oh dear, what have I agreed?" moment.  But I've always left a trail of breadcrumbs so I can be tracked and actually never had any problems.  But it's the same with when someone offers something that you need to go pick up or when someone comes to yours to buy something.  Maybe they're actually casing the joint?

In the end there's never been any drama other than when the OH got some virtual swearing because he wouldn't accept a post dated cheque for a higher value item.

The good thing is that she can come home with the boots if there's no cash to buy them and the buyer doesn't know where she lives.

It really depends whether you are more comfortable people turning up at your house or going to theirs.

Personally as long as it's local I don't mind dropping things off for people in passing rather than giving my address to all and sundry. That way if they are unhappy for any reason they can't turn up on my doorstep shouting about it.

Never had a problem either way.
