Is there a process to cancel administratorship once granted?
I don't think once granted it can be cancelled. Not sure if you can cancel an application in progress, and there is the question above about intermeddling.
I don't think it can be cancelled either - unless it is something like a will is found or the administrator is not doing their job and then someone else goes to court to have then removed and replaced by someone else.

I suspect in this case they are just going to have to carry on and speak to someone senior at the mortgage company about the next moves
