Is it possible without spending loadsa money, to get some sort of adapter so son can let me have the television back?? Any moneysaving solutions?:D

sort of. there are boxes available to take the 3 rca (phono) connectors and output to a VGA (monitor) connection. they don't cost too much anymore on ebay about $20 inc postage maybe a bit more. I have used older ones and they were ok but expensive and high quality these imports??? who knows?0
