    I know that. I was suggesting a possible option to pay the owed transaction fee without selling investments or adding to the SIPP.
    But surely it's better to add to the SIPP at least from an MSE perspective because it will be boosted by tax relief so your fees will cost you less.
    Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

    I didn't suggest it would be better or worse, just a potential alternative.

    Some people max out their pension contributions whereby that wouldn't be an option.
