Facebook hacking

Hi, just wondering if anyone can offer advice, my Facebook account has been hacked.  It doesn’t recognise my email or phone number.  I’ve spent ages trying to access and used codes sent to email but nothing has worked.  Friend has reported my email had hacked and I clicked the link to say let Facebook know account is compromised but not heard anything.  I feel devastated at what might be being sent out to friends and I can’t contact them, loss of marketplace access to sell and buy, Instagram access etc.  Is there anything I can do?

Can't you reset the password by saying you've forgotten it, option to send recovery to a backup email ?  Have you noticed any notification in your emails about someone else or device has logged in to your account ? I don't use Facebook anymore not for decades but back then you could contact them to secure lock it.
