Shower tile substitute -acrylic or PVC panels?

We've had to take off half our shower tiles since they were leaking. Thinking it might be a good opportunity to replace them with something more panel like instead of tiles. Acrylic sheets seem about x5 more than PVC panels, which makes quite a cost difference. Are acrylic ones worth it?

Not sure about your question but didn’t want to not leave a response. I’ve yet to see a shower with these boards that looks any good imo

My guess would be is that the PVC ones will stain and be difficult to keep clean long term, whereas the acrylic ones should keep looking glossy and clean.

We put PVC in. it was about £50 per 1000x2400 panel. Cheap an cheerful. And looks good. PVC - don't use abrasive cleaners or bleach to clean

PVC here too. Hard wearing, cheap and lightweight to work with.
I did consider Multipanel type but as I needed to cut them down to size, these were ideal.

Did you do the longest side as one long panel, or is it two panels with a join?

It's four panels along that side. 40cm width, tongue & groove fit.

We've decided to go for it. Shower panels are on order, PVC based. Thanks!

Too late for you @Bluebell1000 as you've already ordered, but we had acrylic panels put in the shower enclosure just over a year ago - I love them, easy to clean, no more cleaning the grout between tiles and they look fab!

I'm looking forward to not needing to clean the grout
