Increased car insurance due to partner claim on another car

My car insurance is due 1 Aug. Current policy went up so looked for another policy & got a good deal. However then had a message to say they couldn't insure me due to a claim I hadn't declared. Turns out this is due to my husband, who is a named driver in my car, making a claim 2 years ago on HIS cars policy after a deer ran I to the side of his car In June 2022. His car was fixed after bumper was badly damaged. Fair enough I forgot to declare it when I looked at quotes, but I've now looked again & the quotes are higher now I've declared it in the quotes. We both have no claims discount, the accident was in his car and he claimed on his policy. His price didn't go up though but I'm having to pay for something that was an accident, no other vehicles involved & it even anything to do with me ory car. What can I do? Not a option to not have him on my policy as a named driver.
Thanks

Nothing you can do, he is a higher risk due to an at fault accident who you want to allow to drive your car. The insurers as such rightfully price this into their quotes.
I assume the refusal to insure was before your new policy went live and was not a cancelled policy? If the latter, that is a whole new issue to be looked at.0 -
Sadly this is the downside of having someone else on your policy. Any accident or incident they have increases your premium. My husband had two non-fault accidents in 6 months which affected both our premiums for the following 5.5 years. The boring thing is having to dig out all the details every time you want to search for a better quote. And sometimes you have no idea what the value of the payout was either.

We just said ‘not known’ for the cost of the claim as it was all dealt with by our insurance company. That was accepted.
