AA car insurance

I have taken out AA car insurance from 22/06/24. They have sent me several texts and emails asking for proof of no claims years, or they will cancel my policy. I have provided them with proof from my previous insurer. This should be enough, but if they cancel, will I be refunded the total price for the policy.

I take it the proof you sent them was the renewal offer from your previous insurer?
As the policy has already started then you you will not be entitled to the full amount. You would be subject to the terms of your contract. Given AA car insurance is a broker insurance, there will be their fees which would not be refundable and could also be amendment / cancellation fees as well as the time usage.
You also don't want insurance to be cancelled by the insurer as you have to declare this forever, so get onto them and check they have received and accepted your no claims proof.0 -

That is the least of your worries though, you'll have to declare having had a policy cancelled going forward if thats what's happened and the impact of that every year will be vastly higher than the admin fee.
Any reason to think the proof you sent won't be sufficient? Most wouldn't raise the question0 -
Thank you for your replies. It has been a few days since I emailed them proof, so I am assuming that everything is OK.0

They have received proof of no claims. I did the quote online before my renewal, and I thought it was 9 years. It is actually 8 years. AA are saying because it is 8 years and not nine, they want a further £154. I have cancelled the policy and insured with Hastings Direct, showing 8 years no claims. I.think that £154 for 1 year less on my no claims is deplorable.

Out of the fire and into the frying pan. Hastings are a bottom feeder insurer who will look for any opportunity to increase the premium, so don't be surprised if something else comes up with them.
The race to the bottom price is often not a good strategy with motor insurance.0
