Two smaller dehumidifiers instead of one big?

Has anyone experience of using two smaller dehumidifiers? Any unseen drawbacks, higher initial cost and a slightly less efficient set up I get.
The context to this is I have a meaco arete 1 20l which has been good until the control panel failed. As the supplier has none in stock they are refunding, which has me thinking how to replace. Like for like or two 12l dehumidifiers. The benefits I see are that they will be more portable and need less moving about as one could be left upstairs, also when drying clothes in winter one can be on drying duties with the other keeping humidity down in the house. Using moisture extraction figures from the meaco website I would get more extraction with the two 12l units than one 20l albeit at a lower efficiency.

We have four (!) in different parts of the house. One big one just wouldn't work. The aim is to move the air around and dry it in places where there might be damp2

Multiple is ideal for a large house. Power consumption wise it might work out slightly more efficient.1
