Bought 3 year old Kia eniro 2021 and can't believe how noisy it gets at higher speeds. Particularly on the rougher road surfaces. Booked for wheel misalignment however suspect that won't solve the issue. Perhaps the type of tyres are to blame? Has anyone dealt with this issue

Sounds like tyre noise. All tyres are not equal. What tyres are on it?

It's because there's no engine noise so you hear more of the tyre noise.2

What is your definition of higher speeds? The e Nero is not the quietest of EVs for road noise (the replacement model is supposed to be better). Tyres choice can make a difference.0
-
One or more tyres on it may also be stepped adding to the noise.
Sit stationary in any diesel engined car and rev it to 3,000 rpm - it will sound loud, but that will be drowned out by tyres at 50mph.
Check the tyre brand - some brands can easily be 3dB higher... which is twice as loud.0 -
Turn the radio up?3

Get wheels aligned & a new set of All season tyres fitted. Far quieter than the EV specific ones.
Just been on holiday with our e-niro with roof box on. Radio on 8 & still nice & quiet at M/Way speeds.Life in the slow lane0 -
Possibly tyres, but don't discount wheel bearings. Our Yaris has all season tyres which are noisy now worn, but the rear bearings are also grinding slightly, picked up on MOT.

I replaced Continental Premium Contact with Goodyear All-season. Noise level went up!0

Bjorn Nyland tested the old model e-Niro: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1V6ucyFGKWuSQzvI8lMzvvWJHrBS82echMVJH37kwgjE/edit?gid=2069101638#gid=2069101638
69.3dB at 120 kph, or around 75 mph. That's not particularly quiet, but not particularly loud either. It might be an issue with missing or dislodged insulation somewhere, but finding it could be tricky.0 -
Make sure the parcel cover is in place in the back or you will get a lot of noise from the rear wheels.0
