Natwest Mastercard - mortgage payments

Options
Does anyone know if Natwest credit card treat mortgage payments as transfers/advances?

I've been playing off lump sums from my mortgage with my Barclaycard Visa - no fees charged (on the credit card), cashback reward paid, sorted. (For the record Barclaycard thinks the transaction is "Services, Not Elsewhere C", and a previous attempt to get cashback using a Chase Debit card failed - so the Mastercard MCC they use is on the list at Cashback Exclusions | Legal | Chase UK )

I've now got a Natwest card with 19months 0% on purchases and balance transfers made in the first three months (2.99% fee). The credit limit is considerably more than I was expecting.
I could pay down the mortgage with the Barclaycard, and then balance transfer, but that would come at a net cost of 2.49% (2.99 less 0.5% cashback). If I can make the payment directly as a purchase, there should be no fee.

For the record, the mortgage is with Natwest.

Why dont you try and pay a quid off it and see what happens?

Given the card charges surprising NatWest are accepting payment by CC.

I've just had another look at the T&Cs and realised that they charge a fee for items identified as "advances" - for some reason I thought I'd just get stung for interest. Doing the £1 trial as soon as the card arrives looks like the best option as I can immediately pay it off if it doesnt work - thanks for the "poke".
For some reason I thought that I wouldn't be able to see it was a "fail" until I received the first statement (when any interest would be shown).

As far as the card charge thing is concerned, I could hardly believe it either, but it's been allowing Barclaycard to subsidise my mortgage repayments for over two years now.

Update: Got back home after a trip away to find card waiting - done a trial £1 and no fee charged.
Next step is to see if I can max out the credit card in one hit.
