Advice on buying digital camcorder please

Hi,
Looking for a digital camcorder (cheapest possible over £150) probably from Ebay.
What is best type, specn, brand to buy. Would like to edit on PC,
Advice wanted please.
Am confused re mini DV and DVD type cameras and HD.

Do a quick scan through the forum and you will find everything you will ever need (including recommendations). A DVD camcorder records directly to a DVD. A DV camcorder will record to a small tape. With the latter, you will usually use a firewire connection to your PC and edit the footage and then do what you want (burn to DVD etc).
