Unknown data use on new Motorola G62/Labara contract

According to the details of my Labara usage, I normally use very little data on my new smartphone, just a few Mb now and again. However after staying at an hotel for 3 days I noticed there are tens or hundreds of Mb downloaded every single night, just after midnight whilst I'm asleep. Each of these are proceeded by smaller download use a few minutes before. I was using my phone at the hotel in the evening, so could this be my own use but labelled several hours later, or something more sinister? All the security settings seem to be up to date. The contract mentions that it can take up to 3 hours to show, but I assume the times displayed will correspond with actual use.
Since the data used is still below my monthly allocation it probably doesn't matter this time, but I'm just trying to understand what is happening.

Just a thought, but have you checked update settings? Mine are set to update overnight unless I tell them not to.1

And ensure auto updates set to wi-fi only, you can update manually over data if you wish.

The system update history indicates the last one was more than a month ago, not long after I bought it, and these updates were during the last week.
Google play I'm not sure, I've pressed every icon but can't find anything which controls updates.
I've set updates to wifi only so hopefully that'll prevent any unusual data use.

Hi Peter, although not nearly as bad as they used to be, the times quoted by Lebara for calls, texts and especially data shouldn't be relied upon. Just looking at my dashboard, it shows last data used was at 5am today, when phone was switched off. None of the data I have actually used today shows up yet and when it does, I suspect the time shown will be the time that the account updates. Sometimes their app will show calls and texts at one wrong time, while their website shows the same calls and texts at another wrong time. It's as if they are on different time zones. So it's very possible the info you are looking at is for your actual usage much earlier.peter021072 said:The contract mentions that it can take up to 3 hours to show, but I assume the times displayed will correspond with actual use.1 -
Look in settings - mobile networks - your SIM at app data usage and it will show what's using your data1

Also check if the times recorded are GMT/UTC rather than BST, that can often explain an hours discrepency.1

Yeah it's mainly Chrome which used the data. So legit use, first time away from Wifi, but the Data timings are way out, and don't correspond to GMT or BST, or even a fixed shift in time zone. However, the telephone timings seem to be accurate, although I've not examined them in detail.Lorian said:Look in settings - mobile networks - your SIM at app data usage and it will show what's using your data0
