Import duties and customs

Hi, I recently bought two pairs of shoes from Spain and had them shipped to the UK.

I want to return both shoes to spain and everything I'm reading online says that I can reclaim the duties paid on both pairs of shoes.

Is that correct and what is the best way to do this?
