Can anybody suggest an email program for Mac High Sierra (10.13.6) that meets Microsoft's and Google's current security requirements?
Microsoft tell me that last version of Outlook (part of my Office 365 subscription) that is available for High Sierra will no longer access my MS email from September this year and seems flaky even now. Mac Mail of this vintage won't connect to Gmail etc!
Preferably not Thunderbird (if indeed that would work) but I suppose if may have to be if anybody can confirm that will work.
Thanks

Why don't you install Thunderbird and try it?If it works, your question is answered.Thunderbird can be customised to the nth degree via the add-ons so if you don't like the default arrangements you can probably change it:

Version 115 seems to be the last that will work with High Sierra and that will not connect to my Microsoft account as it seems that only later versions have the OAuth2 authentication method MS will require from September.
Pity because in other respects it seems much better than I remembered from years ago.
Unless of course an add on would fix this issue? I will follow your link later.0 -
Well it might have been worth mentioning that you've tried it rather than just saying "if indeed it would work"...And that being said, High Sierra is an old version of MacOS now, last updated in 2020,so you're sort of going to be out of luck I think.0

I agree it looks vastly better than I remember from many years ago but sadly doesn't have the protocol needed for MS email AFAICS.
It is not vital, as I also have an up to date Mac but the old HS iMac has an excellent screen and still serves a very useful purpose. Keeping access to the MS email would be useful but not essential. It is used mainly for one job, which it does well, so long may it last.

Will webmail work or is the os so out of date that even that wont work?0

Is this an Apple problem?
I've been using Thunderbird with OAuth2 for several years to access Gmail.
That would include versions from way before v.115.Move along, nothing to see.0 -

As far as I can see on the Mac version (v.115) OAuth2 isn't available but I would be delighted to be proved wrong?0
