  • Have you checked the T&C?

Unfortunately, mine are on my MacBook at home so can't double check for you atm.

I'm hoping they're less than Chase ones as I used it for car insurance.

With Chase you know almost right away if it doesn't qualify whereas you won't no until the next month
As to the terms for not qualifying one states other similar payments this is very vague
The Chase account does payout on top ups for utilities.
I used a site via the electric  company to buy gift vouchers and received cashback from Chase but the company changed there provider and Chase no longer pay out had to pay by Barclays CC to receive cashback
Tried to get answers from Santander customer service must have spent nearly a hour placed on hold several times.
Came back no cashback on top ups but I pointed out if I had setup DD I would receive cashback put on hold again and then connection was broken

I reckon top-ups and gift cards would be treated as "quasi-cash transactions" and therefore excluded.

     Barclaycard would payout on both.
Chase would payout on the utility top up
Also find it strange that there would be no payment made for the utility payment as if there was DD setup on the Edge account you would receive 1% cashback.
Visited branch today but they where unable to answer the question reffered upwards for answer awaiting phone call

Here is my experience with Santander Edge credit card, cashback received on the following purchases, some of which do not earn cashback at Chase:

    Gift cards via Reward Gateway
    Gift cards via Complete Savings
    Car repairs at a garage
    Octopus Energy online payment
    Passport renewal (online)

You can add Perks at Work and Airtime Rewards (Gift Cards) to that list. I've yet to encounter anything which hasn't paid out, although I haven't tried any of the more dubious routes (i.e. via Curve).

I have had this a few months now and I topped up supermarket gift cards and they go through Runa Network. I got my full £15 last month and this month I’ll need to wait and see but I have overspent the £750 limit on both months so it’s not clear if they did or not qualify.
