    Email response :

    Good Afternoon

We write further to your recent correspondence.

Please note that we hold your updated address already on our files.

Please be advised when we issued a copy of the Parking Charge Notice (PCN) to you the opportunity to pay the reduced charge had long since expired. You were originally provided with the opportunity to pay £60.00 if this was received by our Client within 14 days of the date of issue of the PCN.  As no payment was received within the time frame detailed on the PCN the matter was passed to ourselves, incurring further costs.

The relevant Code of Practice laid out by the British Parking Association (BPA) states that £70.00 is a reasonable amount to charge for the breach of contract within our Client's car parks. The additional cost of £60.00 represents the nature and type of work undertaken by debt recovery agents in the collection of the balance of the unpaid Parking Charge.

Our Client is satisfied that you remain liable for the cost of the Parking Charge Notice (PCN) and the costs of debt recovery, due to non-payment of the charge in question.

We trust this clarifies our position.

    Kind Regards
    Customer Support Team

Ask who invoiced the added £60, given the parking parasite DRA industry all operate on a no-win-no-fee basis.  If a victim pays £160 who keeps the extra £60 and does that added sum include the VAT element of a fee apparently added to "represent the nature and type of work undertaken by debt recovery agents in the collection of the balance".

    What work?

    Who did it?

    Who keeps the £60?

    Show the invoice?

Explain whether £60 includes the VAT that applies to DRA fees?

PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you. Have sent this via email. Two days ago I received this letter dated 25th October saying my letter of claim is due to expire 3rd November. I just ignore this?

Standard response from Bw Legal to the email suggested above regarding the £60.

    Good Morning

Please note that the full balance of £160.00 remains due and owing, should you wish to dispute this matter further please seek your own legal advice, collections activity will continue.

    Kind Regards

As long as you haven't moved house, it is likely dormant but might be passed around to try a different DRA or solicitor.

July 2024 when posted this thread,  statute barred in summer 2030, 6 years after the incident date,  a long time to go, so unlikely they dropped it,  its currently dormant,  in hibernation,  but likely to wake up at some point, so definitely dropped if you hear nothing until August 2030. !
