So I’ve been left a small legacy in my late uncles will and finally it is ready to be paid out. My only issue is when my uncle made out the Will (over 20 years ago) he put it in my married name. I’ve been divorced over 20 years and reverted back to my maiden name.
The solicitor is now asking for proof of my change of name back to my maiden name, but I no longer have my marriage certificate, decree absolute or change of name deed as it was so long ago.
Can anyone please advise what I do now please? I’m so frustrated with this solicitor and all the issues with this!
thank you!

Thanks for your reply. I don’t have any old passports but I do have my birth certificate and could possibly apply for my marriage certificate but I’m not sure that would be sufficient?0

Buy a copy of the decree absolute https://www.gov.uk/copy-decree-absolute-final-order and make sure you dont lose this version.1
