Multiple PCN fines from parking in my own allocated space 3 years ago

I moved into a rented flat and parked in my allocated spot. I wasn't told by the letting agents of the importance of displaying my permit. So for the first two months I wasn't permanently displaying my permit - sometimes I would forget or other times it dropped off the dash.

I did try to email the officer with the email that was provided on the back of the 'privacy notice' left on my car to show proof of permit and tenancy contract but I never received any response. There were signs around the parking lot but I honestly thought I wouldn't have an issue parking in a spot that I had a right to use. I had no experience with private parking before and I thought emailing the company with proof would place me on a white list or exempt list. Clearly I was wrong.

Unfortunately, in those first two months I forgot to change my V5 when I moved in so I wasn't aware I was receiving fines, as the notice left on my car gave no indication. Hence why these fines went on for 2 months.

I was previously given advice to ignore these fines but I'm starting to wonder if I received wrong advice.

I have now received a new letter and looking for advice for my next steps please.

I understand I made some big mistakes in this process. Some big lessons have been learned. I would appreciate any help.

Thank you.

How many PCNs and how much are they demanding?  You've covered that info.

You can ignore DCB Ltd letters at pre-action stage (no court claim in play).  You got the RIGHT ADVICE regarding ignoring debt demands (as long as you don't move home again without telling them).

Reply when you get a DCB Legal letter.  This is fully explained in the second post of the NEWBIES thread. See my signature for how to click right there from any thread.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You haven't received a single "fine". So, please stop referring to them as such. You have received 24 speculative invoices from an unregulated private parking company.

What does your tenancy agreement say about parking? What it doesn't say about parking is equally important.

I will contact my estate agent to get another copy of the tenancy agreement as I no longer live there. However, if my memory is correct, I don't recall there being anything about parking or displaying my ticket. But don't count me on that, I will confirm later this week.

    Many thanks
