The OP mentioned standing charges, which didn't do that.bristolleedsfan said:Netexporter said:Because it is July.https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2024/05/martin-lewis--energy-price-cap-to-fall-in-july/

Must be another reason, maybe just guessing O/P lives within a region that boarders another region just switched from Eon Next where O/P was paying a lower region SC.BarelySentientAI said:

"Huge rise" in SC does seem odd without something to clarify itbristolleedsfan said:

Out of curiosity how do you know you got a "huge rise today"?
I could only think either they emailed you (but I didn't get this from them) or you check your tariff figures each morning?0 -
I check my account every day as i assume others do.0

Hmm I wonder if I'm abnormal then. I most certainly don't check every day. I'll check maybe once per month to see if what I was billed for matches the readings I gave.Krakkkers said:I check my account every day as i assume others do.0 -
I'm on a tariff that changes every day (Tracker) but with things fairly stable right now I'm not even checking every day. Once or twice a week on average, at the moment.B0bbyEwing said:

If I were on flexible or a fix though it would just be checking once a month that the bill and everything else is correct.0
