‘Overdales’ solicitors and N1SDT form

Morning.
First time poster.
I’ve had some dealings with Lowell and now this has been handed over the Overdale which I believe is the same company.
I’ve had a ‘claim form’ through the post but it looks fake. I know that these companies use wordings / letters and things to scare tactics. The claim form states it’s from Northampton but it doesn’t appear to actually be a court. I’m a little confused as to what to do with this and if this another ploy from Lowell.
I keep an eye on my credit with CreditScore and had some money issues in the past. I previously had a CCJ for something else that fell off my credit file this month. I’ve worked at paying off credit cards before due and working on my credit. How do I go about replying to this?! It’s for ‘Hutchinsons’ which I believe is mobile phone debt. I have none and pay all my bills on time.
How do I know if this is real or fake. I know some companies ‘buy’ old debt and scare you into paying it with tactics but over the last few years I’ve worked really hard to improve my credit and get back on track.
Any help would be great please.
thank you

You must acknowledge service within 14 days of service, i.e. 19 days from the issue date. Then respond within 28 days of issue.

    Details here

  • I’ve checked my file and the only outstanding is from 2013. Would this be in connection to that? And could they claim a CCJ for it? The letter looks like scare tactics and when I’ve looked at sites for advice some say don’t engage with them specially with it being so old?! I’m a little lost 😞….

If they have started a claim against you, then you must engage with the court at Northampton.

The particulars of claim will say what this is

You can do a cca request to Lowell (assuming it's a credit debt) and a cpr request to their solicitor.

Put in a defence and they may well give up. Continue to ignore and you will get a ccj in default in about two weeks time

You must respond to a court claim.

Northampton is the bulk processing centre for civil claims.

If the debt is that old you would defend it on the basis of it being statute barred, but doing nothing is not an option unless you want another CCJ.

Acknowledge service online, it gives you more time to respond.

Follow the link fatbelly has kindly provided for you, for further information, this will not be a scam.
