Scammed and so difficult to report

That's not a fair representation of this site.
If you explain the steps that took place in the scam then people will advice you on which entity (bank, VISA, eBay etc) can deal with it and what approach you need to take. But we have no idea what type of scam this is and what happened.
Instead you're talking about tracking them down via the ads and bringing them to justice.
Again we need to know which type of scam so we can advise you whether to head to a remote Myanmar town or a terrorist group in Africa.2 -
You have been given advice to check out companies before giving them your money.
As you have found out , it is nigh on impossible to stop them advertising and they will continue to do so as long as they are making money.
If Google, and other powers that be ,cannot stop them why do you think anybody on here would have the answer2 -
To the OP.
At the moment there is no global organisation who can investigate scam sites and can successfully prosecute the perpetrators wherever in the world they may be and get the victims' monies backIf you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales1 -
diddydaddy said:wow what a bunch of absolute no help.
I thought I would get some decent advice on here, instead of people saying I shouldn't have given them my money, and peole saying I have done nothing about it.
Completely missed the point.
The reason I have not revealed the ads yet, is that Google will remove the ads and they will remain squeaky clean, and I wil then have no evidence.
I am fed up with condescending people who say I shouldn't have given them my money, and I should have checked the companies out first. Yes I know this, but it has happened now, and I don't need a bunch of people telling me it shouldn't have happened.
The point I was making is maybe a bit of advice on how to report. And if there is anything that can be done.
This is not a rant, but I did think I was going to get some real advice, not a load of people stating the bl***ing obvious
I will remove myself from this forum, and try another.
As above, Action Fraud is the place to report things if that was the question you meant to ask but did not. Perhaps asking a question on the new forum might elicit a response more to your liking.
Note that they don't take action - they just log things for tracking purposes so they know what scams people are falling for and if other authorities do have resources to investigate, it can feed into that.

There are too many scammers in the world and they can be literally anywhere in the world. It's more important to prevent them from continuing to pull the same scam. I encountered a company that set up a spoof scam site using my business' details, what I did was report them to: the police, action fraud, google, their web host, their CDN, facebook (where they had some of their advertising hosted), the anonymising company that was protecting their details on the whois page, their email provider, their blog host, the asa, microsoft, the national cyber security centre, norton, mcafee, IC3, US cyber security... basically everybody I could find. The end result was that the site disappeared, the ads vanished, and they weren't able to continue scamming people with that advert/website.Trading standards are for businesses that are behaving dishonestly, and won't be able to help. Likewise watchdog or whoever are unlikely to be able to help you if it's an out and out scam. But absolutely do report it to your bank, and the payment processing company, and if you paid by card then involve your card company, because that is likely your only chance of getting your money back.1
