Electric meter reading confusion

Hi, A few weeks ago I had solar panel installed. On 27 June I checked my meter and the reading was 23462. Today I checked again and it's now showing 23439. It's gone down which I don't understand. Try to see if your installer will fit a detached comms hub - smart electric meters are only taller than conventional because the two units are normally together.

But the comms hubs can be mounted - adjacent to the meter - e.g. to the side for instance - if helps.
