Morning All
Hope everyone is keeping well
Just a quick post from me as Jackie O has texted to say they arrived safely even with atrocious weather yesterday
Their internet should be going on Friday so she will be back soon x
We currently have DBIL and DSIL staying and we are going to DD house to feed the cat as she has been away for work, back tonight.
Hugs to all who want them

Thanks NRA & RR for the update on JackieO. It's so good to hear their dreams have come to fruition after a long wait. Just the thought of moving all your stuff across to an island is a bit mind boggling.Good luck in your new home Jackie & family! Late afternooon all...finally sat down and I'm a bit cream crackered...When we put up the gazebo to tst it for sturdness and not falling apartness, we've been fiddling with it for the last couple of days to try and stop it from flopping everywhere, bubble wrapped stacks of tiles have been moved so many times to weight the sides down...I think we've cracked it now and all stuff is moved out except the stuff I'm giving away to the scrapstore [ ear plugs and tyvek overcoats, don't ask] and a demijana hopefully either to the Polish community or the Italian deli people. and some quattro stagioni jars [ some, ha! lots] . Tomorrow OH is back in work and I think I'll be having a rest day. We've stil got the goth box and the fence to take down but that's a job for the weekend now as well s move the fridge freezer and tumble but that's OHs job and whatever friend he can rope in. Supper tonight is an easy mushroom risotto and lidls toulouse sausages - because I've just had to go there to get ham for a sandwich for now because I hven't had time to cook anything today.Good to here Jackie has moved, hope she's having a whale of time unpacking and making everything just so. TA, hope the lunch was good! Izzy, I think it would be better for you to come here and I'll put my feet up...or we can just go for a boozy lunch like TA
Gers, I know what you mean, no more long walks for me..If we did go on holiday I'd have to be babeach bunny, or more likely beached whale..but hooray for washing drying. I think I've missed my window for that. Scarlet, that's good they found something and are doing something, not a pleasant experience at all. Ruby, hope your mum is ok and her meds are now sorted. Rosy, sounds like a good day! dp1, glad they're enoying, hope your teeth are good too! Chris, that's good going! snoozer, Halifax on holiday/ enjoy! Hugs and stuff for the poorly or knackered, fingers crossed for less rain now...

Evening all..its so long since I have been on that I am totally out of touch. It's good to see so many familiar names and the ñews that JackieO has moved to the Isle of Wight, many happy times there Jackie!
2023 was a tough year.....OH spent most of last year in and out of hospital, he ended up having both legs amputated above the. knee, he is.now permanently in a wheelchair, luckily we have help as I wouldn't be able to manage on my own, the family are all at work.
I miss my daily fix of Old Style.
Hugs to all in need of one

Hugs @meanmarie. I understand a bit of your problem as I have a roommate who has fallen several times and I can never get her up (she weighs a hundred pounds more than me). We have to call in the Paramedics every time. I used to take care of my grandparents, then my brother, then my parents. Watch you own health - especially your back. Don't be afraid to ask for help whenever you need it. Take it easy whenever you have a chance.
@Gers - I understand the feeling. I had lunch with my two sisters on Monday and we spent the whole time discussing their trips they had just taken and were planning in the near future. One just got back from driving to Yellowstone National Park . The other had just gotten back from Hawaii. The first one is on her way to a trip around the Northeast Part of the US and part of Canada in September (with a group she travels with -- husband stays home) and then Hawaii in October. The second sister was deciding if they are going back on a cruise or make a trip to the British Isles this year. I'm lucky these days if I make to the next town over and then it is usually for a doctor's appointment for someone in the family! But I do have my memories of lots of trips I took in the past. And I am planning virtual trips in my PowerPoint classes. I just need a place to sit back and imagine the trip I'm taking. That will do.6
