wireless was unprotected this morning?

this os the first time this has happened in 2 years. I went to connect this morning and my wireless had reverted to its original ssid, and was unprotected- why could this be? i set it to have a password to enter the router page, its wpa psk2 encrypted as well, nobody rebooted the router..could this be a problem with virgin or has someone somehow got past the passwords? i've redone it all now, but it's worrying me a bit as this has never happened befoe even when i have rebooted the router, disconnected the modem etc.

I don't think Virgin could have anything to do with it. Are you sure it's not one of your neighbours who just happen to have the same model of router? If not, have you upgraded the firmware recently? This may have reset the configuration.

This is just a wild guess with no knowledge to back it.
There has been some rough weather around lately, would a small power cut i.e. a second, then reset, cause these symptoms?
This might not necessarily show on other equipment.
    Move along, nothing to see.

You'll never know for sure what caused this to happen both power hiccup or firmware upgrade could have this effect. Just keep an eye on things to see if it happens again.

I found out..my dad decided for no apparent reason it needed resetting..and then wondered why it wasn't encrypted any more-doh!
