  • Yeah sorry.

I've got songs in my itunes library by the same artist, from the same album but they there are not together in the library. How do i amalgamate them?
  • If you mean you've got loads of music, and want to burn an album of all one particular artist, do a search for that artist, so only that is showing, on the right.

Then create a new playlist (the + symbol on the left), drag and drop the tracks to that - then burn that playlist.

Note: When you open the playlist, if you go to "file", "print" - it will also give you options for printing jewel case inserts, or other track listing options.

Edit: Oh and if the songs aren't showing next to each other in the library and you'd like them to, click on "album by year" and it will group all music by album - providing all the tracks from that album are listed as being part of the same album.
  • Sorry for being thick, but i can't find the album by year option.
Also, whats the best way to get album art if itunes can't find it?
  • I get artwork from Amazon's website normally. Most albums have little artwork on there and you can drag and drop it to iTunes.

At the top of the columns where you have like "name", "track number", "artist". You should have something that says "album" or "album by year".
IF it's not there, right-click on one of the other headings, and it gives you all the other things - file size, genre, etc. Click on "album" on there, and it adds it to the options at the top.
  • on Macs, the op toolbar (with the file, view, help, etc, buttongs on it) has in one of those drop-down buttons something called "Get info" - select all the tracks you want info on and clicking "get info" usually results in you getting artwork, track names, artist names, album names, date, etc. There should be a similar feature for the PC version of itunes. or do what toasterman said re Amazon.

  • How do u edit track names or artists?
  • okay, I'm saying this from using Mac, so apologies if it doesn't translate properly.

to edit info on one song, click the song so it is highlighted, then press the apple button and "I" simultaneously (for PC, this is probably, hold "Ctrl" down and then press "I") a box will appear with info on the song you've just selected. to the top of this box should be a series of 'titles' with stuff like 'artist info' 'track info' etc (not sure what exactly off the top of my head). clicking on these allows you to edit info like artwork, titles, add what album its from and what year etc.

to do this with a batch of songs (e.g. an album you've ripped from cd), first make sure that itunes is only showing the songs you want to edit (either by creating a playlist thingy in the side panel, or by searching through the library until you've excluded the tracks you don't want to edit (all this is explain as a how-to by another poster above). then click one track so it is highlighted, press 'apple' and 'A' (or 'Ctrl' and 'A"), then 'apple' and 'I' (or Ctrl and 'I') and you'll get a similar box to the one I described above.

    hope this helps.
