RAC Wrong Name

Options
I recently took out a new breakdown cover with RAC.
I have vehicle cover, not personal cover, so my cover states anyone can drive my car and still be covered for a breakdown etc.
Somehow I mistakenly spelt my surname wrong (really not sure how I did it)
I reached out the them to change it but haven’t heard anything back. Either way it’ll be £30+ just to add the 1 letter I missed whenever they do get back to me.
Is this a big deal?
Can I just leave it with an incorrect spelling?
They’ve taken the money so it’s not affected that.

Why would it be a big deal.  You've said yourself that the vehicle is covered, not the person.  So we why would the spelling of the person's name matter?

But a person is in contract with RAC and if things go wrong only that person can enforce their contractual rights. It would be a wholely avoidable situation if Mr Dice was trying to complain on Mr Vice's policy but they are only trying to claim they are one and the same person 9 months into the contracts etc.

Can't remember if RAC is actually insurance or not but if it is then under CIDRA failing to correct an error can be considered a reckless false declaration with entitles an insurer to void a policy and avoid all claims even if the non-disclosure is unrelated to the claim etc.

Are you worried that if the cover is in the name of, say, "Mr Smth" they will refuse to help a Mr Smith at the roadside?
