Hi
I got a receipt for petrol for £28.88, but on my Halifax bank statement the entry is £29.88, who should I go to first the bank or the petrol station ?

The merchant would be the one to approach but need to wait until its a firmed up payment, could be the bank just aggregating the original checking your card is valid £1 authorisation and the subsequent £28.88 authorisation for the actual amount of fuel dispensed. The collection would be for £28.88 at which point the £1 authorisation drops off5 -
