non-income based JSA

Dear all,
I am wondering whether I am eligible for non-income based JSA. I am a British citizen. I have been living in the UK since October 2022 and worked here since November 2022 till June 2024. Before that I was living abroad for 3 years. Upon my return to the UK, I paid voluntary NI contributions. However, I have just read that NI contributions class 1 are required for JSA eligibility, but I paid the classes 2 and 3 contributions to cover the years of my absence. Thank you.

The relevant tax years are 2021/2 and 2022/3.

So probably unlikely (as Nov 22 to 5/4/23 would not give you the required 26 weeks)  - but you could still check with HMRC
Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.

Alice is correct, 23/24 comes into play from new claims made after the first Sunday in January 2025

I have just calculated: 2021/22 - I worked abroad for 34 weeks and paid voluntary NIC (classes 2 and 3), 2022/23 - I worked in the UK for 22 weeks. Any ideas?

It is Class 1 contributions that count for New Style JSA

Class 1 contributions for benefits must come from employment I believe.

You need 26 weeks class 1 contributions which you do not appear to have.

Class 2& 3 do not count for JSA but they do count for state pension.
