I do the birdie song stew... a little bit of this and a little bit of that.. chuck in a bunch of whatever we have.. a few shakes of gravy granules.. and turn on the slowcooker.. not killed anyone yet!! Tell you what I do sling in.. a couple of cupasoups.. instead of gravy.. *slurpable*
I do prefer corned beef hash though.. gravy, spuds, onions, carrots and 2 tins corned dog... FOOD!!
Ooh.. casserole... tin of tomatoes, 2 onions, the end of the sunday roast carrots and some herbs...

Ooh I love corned beef hash :j
Bacon hotpot's another fave.......I put a little lard in the bottom of a roasting dish (to prevent sticking), add a chopped onion, a layer of sliced potatoes then some rashers of bacon on top (I cut them in half first) Sprinkle a beef oxo cube on top, pour a little bit of water over, put the lid on, then cook at 180C for about 2 - 2 1/2 hours.
It tastes gorgeous!0 -
Hi, I've been lurking on this board for a while and really enjoying soaking up the knowledge from the inspirational people who post here-already got me using stardrops, chopping my dishwasher tablets in twoetc! I've just got a few queries and was wondering if anyone could offer some advice. I bought some casserole beef yesterday and also have a celeriac (10p at Mr A's!), some carrots, onion and garlic and some beef stock. Can anyone tell me the best way to cook this and any more ingrediants I may need to add? Also could anyone suggest an inexpensive meal I could cook for four adults (with two very greedy men!) a four year old and two toddlers-we've got friends coming over and I'm a bit stumped. I'm going to do an apple crumble for desert so that's sorted! I would be very grateful for some advice.HSBC Visa-High interest-£2349.23 Nat West £2605.18

Thanks 10past6. I'd meal planned and shopped for the week when DH suddenly landed this one on me tonight so really need to go and start from scratch on this one. I've got all the normal cupboard staples like pasta, rice, spuds etc so just a nice big cheap recipe would help.HSBC Visa-High interest-£2349.23 Nat West £2605.18
