Does an unpaid DD go on my credit report ?

Fuming with HSBC, My monthly DD payment is due 8th of the month and I made a manual payment in excess of my minimum payment on 25th June. I asked HSBC would the DD still be taken and they advised it wouldn’t due to I made the payment in plenty of time prior. On the off chance I checked my NatWest last 2330 ish and see I am overdrawn due it being taken. Funds credited to correct it

Spoke to NatWest who are advising I will be just be charged a unpaid DD fee, I brought it up with NatWest how can I go overdrawn and you didn’t even send a notification by SMS advising me even though my settings are set to, HSBC have even advised reversing the DD

Obviously there is no late payment due to it’s already paid but will this still be reported

You paid the due amount to HSBC before the deadline.  So what is there to report?

It's usually only the companies you have credit agreements with who will report missed payments. If HSBC are happy that the bill has been paid, then nothing should get reported to your credit files.

As for NatWest, the overdraft/DD dishonour fee is something you'll have to get them to sort out. Either make a complaint and see if they will waive it, or just pay it. Either way, those sort of things don't get reported to your credit file so you'll be okay from that end.

You were overdrawn due to the DD being taken, but then you say the DD bounced/went unpaid? I'm confused.

Credit files contain the standing of your credit accounts and from what I'm reading above you're still in good standing (since the minimum payment was covered)

Do you use the NW app and have notifications on rather than the flaky SMS service? Mine always pings me if something odd happened like a DD going early (thanks Santander) and you have until 3pm to put money in and avoid any comeuppance

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

    Thanks

on checking last night I was showing £92 overdrawn so credited £100. This morning I am £112 in credit with the DD now showing unpaid
