Sorry for the delay
It is a 2012 Skoda Yeti 2l tdi Elegance with 130k miles. It is in vgc
They have offered £4k, I see similar age for £5k and over1 -
It's not hard to do, your insurers should be able to give you the relevant claim reference number and address etc for the third party insurer. You then send them a letter outlining what you are claiming for and how much and enclose copies of receipts etc as evidence. I'd always suggest to send copies not the originals as things can go missing in the post.Jen19999 said:Can I ask for more advice please?
The other party's insurance has accepted liability.
My insurance company has deemed my car as too expensive to fix and therefore a write off. I did try to negotiate that they get the other insurance company to pay for fixing the car but unfortunately the garage was too swift and it has been sent for scrap already.
What they are paying me is probably a fair price of what the car is worth but bearing in mind dealer's fees I will not be able to get another car of the similar standard/age/etc for what I will be paid
Can I claim an additional cost from the other party's insurance company and if so can you give me any tips on how to go about this?
My insurance company won't assist as apparently I would need Motor Legal Protection insurance for this service. I apparently have to claim all my costs for taxis and hire cars from the other insurance company myself
They will respond with an offer or cheque depending on if they accept all the items you're claiming.1 -

In which case provide the evidence to dispute it. I've had a claim in the past and once provided with the details of multiple similar cars at higher prices and all the service history of my car showing its condition their offer was increased.Jen19999 said:Sorry for the delay

There's 22 2012 Yeti diesels on Autotrader.
Only one has higher mileage than yours (134k), and is £2.9k - Elegance spec, too.

The only other over 125k is £4250.

Another 8 are over 100k, six of which are under £4.5k.
120k miles, Elegance spec, £4k on the nose, one owner from new.
