Cost of living

Is there a cost of living payment in July 2024 , I’ve heard there is but haven’t seen anything so just thought I’d see if anyone knows

    The only payments available are Household Support Fund payments from the council but that depends on whether your local council is issuing these payments and the various different criteria they use. Lots of newspapers are reporting these as COL payments which is probably where you heard it from.

    Cornwall still paying  Household Support Fund. I got £80 last week.

    Quite a few councils are making payments automatically to people getting a Council Tax Reduction. My council only makes payments in Oct/Nov others are in the spring or summer. The amount you get paid can vary by each council from £50-£500. Most are sent letters through the mail that can be cashed at a Post Office or paid directly into a bank account.

    My advice is to check your local councils website but beware not all councils reveal details of when these payments will be sent out...mine certainly doesn't but it will tell you how to apply for a payment.
