Thank you everybody for your replies and advice, much appreciated.
My intention was to always pay the invoice, I was only questioning the legitimacy of the companies and that the payment was not going to be used for nefarious purposes.0 -
Most the money is simply repaying the money they had to pay to HMRC on your behalf... the very small fee they've added on top will go towards paying the peoples salary who filled in the paperwork, sent you the letter etc and maybe a cocaine fueled summer party but the same could be said of money you pay to any company or person; its up to them what they spend their profits on.0
