Before I get someone out thought I'd ask.
Cost for a motorised 3m awning? £1K? 3? 5?

I was shocked at the cost. This site local to us suggests £5k. I'm going to call them anyways to see how much to replace the fabric bit of our not motorised awning. And some other blinds that are needed.

The cost will depend to a great extent on whether you're looking to buy something for DIY installation or want a fully fitted service. As you're looking at motorised awnings you presumably need electrical work as well as just a cassette screwing to the wall, unless these things just plug in and you happen to have a convenient socket to use?

I got a 3 metre x 2.5m projection one a couple of year back for around £450 and fitted myself. It's motorised with remote control.
Straight forward to fit if you can get the electric to it1 -
We were going to get one but the prices piut me off so we got one of these and it works well.

Yes I do that, it is easy to remove leaving the poles in and it stands in the corner of the garage for the winter. Now on it's third summer and still works well.2

Our problem is a slightly different one. We have an area outside the back door we want to cover if it's raining but don't need most of the time, so thought of a retractable awning. Manual is fine. I can see lots for less than £500 but how do I know what is good/bad... I can't find any independent reviews anywhere ?
