Cashing in Specific Premium Bonds

I want to cash in specific bonds (rather than the oldest ones first which is the default option for NS&I). I have tried to fill in the on-line form and ask for the money to be sent to my NS&I Direct Saver. However the system doesn’t like the information I’ve supplied. I suspect I may need to put in Sort code/account number for Direct Saver and then my account number as the reference but I’m not certain. Has anyone else done this and succeeded? (NS&I telephone help are, as usual, charming but useless - just keep telling me I need to fill in form - which is precisely what I’m trying to do!)

I got a letter a while later telling me they couldn't process the request because they didn't recognise the account details.I gave up on transferring to the Direct Saver, and instead sent the money to an external (current) account with a standard sort code/account number combination. The NS&I CS rep agreed that a convenient box to tick to say "Transfer to this Direct Saver" would make life much easier all round, but doing anything about a suggestion like that was above their paygrade.3
