Has anyone had a mortgage accepted on a property with non-compliant drainage?

Hello!
Has anyone had a mortgage accepted on a property where the survey has revealed a non-compliant septic tank? The drainage is not working as expected with suspected expired soak away. Basically the seller is an idiot and is refusing to rectify the issue, but we ourselves are prepared to carry out the work once purchased. The seller's argument is that he feels that he is selling the house at less than it's worth (delusions of grandeur). We wouldn't try to renegotiate the price because we are entirely over dealing with someone who has a pea for a brain.
We are buying the house with a mortgage and our solicitor has said it is unlikely/rare that mortgage lenders will be happy to continue. However we do have a suitable deposit and are low risk, so wanted to know if anyone has had a mortgage go through despite non-compliance at point of purchase?

We bought in 2020. House had a 100+ year old septic tank not compliant with the General Binding Rules.
We were able to agree that the seller would pay costs to install a small sewage treatment plant thankfully, but the work was not done until a few months after we moved.
As far as the mortgage went it was never even raised as a concern by the bank.1 -
