Spouse cover removed without notification

I've just discovered that Autoaid removed the included spouse cover without telling me. My wife has been driving for a year with no breakdown cover. I let the policy auto-renew on the basis that she would've been included & have now had to pay an extra charge to add her on. I would've cancelled on the basis that I had been misled but they would charge a cancellation fee. If they'd had the honesty to tell me I could have got better cover for less. I feel cheated by such underhand behaviour. If they are this sneaky then I fear that they'll be equally likely to let us down should we have a breakdown. I won't be using them again.

Have you checked their renewal documents to see if this is mentioned or not?
If not, try a complaint, worth a go to perhaps get some token go away moneySam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

I don't know what's going on with AutoAid. I've been with them for years, and they were always brilliant value for money (and great service when you needed to call them) in the situation where you needed two spouses covered in any car. But recently I've had a similar experience - the price has shot up, and they've sneakily started charging extra to add a spouse.I shopped around and found a much better deal which gives the same level of cover. Actually, a better level of cover as the new company doesn't have an age limit on the cars.AutoAid used to be great, but sorry, you've lost my custom.0
