Funny you say about the Haynes manual that’s what he was Talking about said he missed his old bay window camper van just open it up everything was easy to get to and when you unplugged anything you didn’t get a million warning lights lol.
    Advancing years bring rose-tinted memories.

Bays were HORRIBLE to work on. Utter, utter nightmare.

This is the only access. That's it. No more. On your knees, reach in, and s-t-r-e-t-c-h.

I mean yeah that looks horrible to get to hahaha I remember when he let me take it out 1.6 4 gears I think amount of times I went to go into 5th left hand drive as which always made it interesting we used it for our wedding then it got written off while it was parked up

No - there's no air gets in when you change pads.

BUT... you should be replacing fluid regularly - if you're not testing it with a hygrometer, then every two years or so.

So had wheel bearing and a abs sensor changed few weeks back all done and sorted while garage was replacing it said pads were on way out quoted like £240 to change fronts which I thought was a little steep.

Was that £240 just for pads, or pads & discs?

i mean £240 for discs and pads with Labour would of thought not to bad but not just pads lol

By changing the pads yourself you would save about £200!!! so well done.

With my current car you seemingly need a computer to change the rear pads :o My last car also had an electronic hand brake but there was an ignition / pedal sequence for backing the caliper off and resetting it afterwards.

There's usually a way around it. On my Volvo I could either remove the handbrake motor or wind the piston back in usiing a PP3 battery.
